Good afternoon everyone I come to the form again to seek advice. I recently ordered energy suspension bushings (4.2113g) to replace the old bushing in my leaf springs. After doing a little bit of research I have noticed some leafspring bushings for our trucks come in a premade metal sleeve and after looking at my lease springs I believe those are the types of bushings that I had in the leafspring before. Also the energy suspension instructions stated that the outer metal collar had to be removed.
I don't know if this will help you but here it is. I replaced all 12 spring bushings in my 72 F250 4wd.
Rear bushings part # RB 110. Two required. 1-3/8 O.D. 9/16 I.D. 2-3/4 length over all. For top end of hanger.
Rear bushings for leafs. Part # RB 101. Four required. 1-1/4 O.D. 5/8 I.D. 2-3/4 length over all.
Front bushings. All 6 the same. Part # RB 102. 1-1/4 O.D. 9/16 I.D. 3-3/8 length over all.
I just ordered them from the local spring shop. Once I did the leg work and came up with the "RB" numbers it wasn't a problem for them.
My truck is original so these are the correct ones. And they were tough to do. However, well worth it.
Hope this helps.
I went with energy suspension bushing kit. I had to be careful which kit I chose.
Their kit for does not mention Ford Flex o matic but says three bushing rear shackle.
Ford also had a regular style two bushing rear shackle in the heavier gvw f100’s
Here is some Bushing info: C8TZ-5781-B .. Flex-O-Matic Spring Bushing / 1 3/8" O.D. x 5/8" I.D. x 2 3/4" long / Obsolete
If that is what you need a machine shop can make 'em. They should be cheap.
