I have a 1977 F250 with an NP203 that has the part time conversion kit, the one with the solid shaft. My 203 takes a 2.5" chain. However, I'm having a hard time finding a new chain...well impossible. I have found the 2" chain though. The place I'm buying it from says there is a conversion from 2.5" to 2" chains. I assume this has new chain sprocket gears and chain. It's being shipped to me now and I started searching around about particulars regarding this kit. But I found none. Does anyone have any info on this.
Should have been made by MileMarker back in the day.
They may still have some information (hopefully) that you can access. They're most well known for their locking hubs and winches, but they were the big name in part time conversions as well.
The good news is that you got the good kit, that was less likely to mess anything up. The bad news was for the original owner, that ponied up the $250-$300 bucks back in the '70s or '80's for that! Big bucks back then!
It might even have come with a new chain (I just can't remember anymore) and maybe they'll either have some for sale, or have the specs on them.
