Good deal?
Guys, I think I may have found my new truck- 93 F250HD X-cab 4x4, 351, 5 spd, XL package, stainless rear bumper, 102K miles, new tires, good brakes, clutch felt good, 4.10 gears, $8900. Sound like a good deal? My only major gripe is that it doesn't have A/C, but I think I can live with it. I'm kinda worried about the gas mileage with the low gears, will it make that much of a difference? The alternator was whining when I test drove it, but the salesman said he'd have it checked out. He also said he might be able to get me 3 grand for my truck, which would give me 500 bucks down. What do you think, good deal or not?

Show up with 7k cash, wave that under his nose and see what happens. If there is a salesman involved it must be on a lot, which I would bet means very little wiggle room. It's always tough deciding what it's worth, "worth" is a relative thing. This probably helps you very little.

Actually, I just looked and KBB says $7605, so I bet I can beat them down at least that far. If it's anything like it was when I bought my truck, there is some wiggle room for sure- the dealer was asking $7995 for my 92 when I bought and, and I ended up paying $5500 plus all the nonsense fees. I'm still kinda worried about the gas mileage, but it probably won't be much worse than I'm getting now (I hope anyways).
