I put on a set of Balancemasters. They use mercury instead of ball bearings. I bought a set of Centramatics for my trailer, but they did not fit.
Sorry, but I do not have a lot of experience yet to tell you what to do.
Some people swear by them. Others think that they are snake oil and can't possible work. My truck runs great with them but as to benefit, I just don't know. The principle seems sound to me. I bought them to help keep the tires a little cooler because I will be running the rear tires of my X up near the load limit. I could really care less about longer tire wear because I will probably trade the X before I wear out the tires. I just don't want a blow-out at 70 mph with a 8000 lbs. trailer in tow. If these things lessen that possibility by even 5%, they are worth the money to me.
The Balancemasters seem to be a little better made than the Centramatics, but they are also $200/axle, which is twice the price of Centramatics.
