Wanted to share a couple pictures of my latest work on my truck. Added clearance and running lights and mudflaps. Also changed out running boards and running board lights. Below is before and after. Sorry for the crappy pictures. I was just so pleased with how it turned out I wanted to share right away.
It’s very simple, but I’d rather let Baatzy show his since it’s his thread. I actually did door lights and puddle lights at the same time on the 2003. Back in 2003 Ford in their cost reduction dropped simple courtesy items even in the Latriat package that were even standard on the XLT package. PMO to no end.
I can definitely throw together a write up on what I did. Any area you would like focused on in particular? Clearance lights, running lights, running board lights or all of the above?
It will be a couple days though. Got about a thousand miles to go this weekend.

When you get a chance, Im definitely interested in hearing about the Clearance lights install.
I will do a much better job when I get more time but for now a short and quick version of the install. I did the install by using a simple LED clearance light kit for superdutys off of Amazon.
Drop the front of the headliner about 4" or so. To do this the visors and A pillar plastic needs to be removed.
Line top front of cab with painters tape. Specifically the 3"-7" range behind the top of the windshield.
Layout the lights. Start by finding the center of the cab for the center light. I then went 8.5" out on each side for the next lights and then 13" from that out for the outer light. All lights are 5.5" to the center from the top of the windshield moulding.
Set lights on and check that you like how they look.
Drill holes. I believe I used a 1/2" for the center hole for the plug and 1/8" for the holes for the self tappers. Once holes are drilled silicone each hole then place light on and tighten down.
Once lights are tightened I ran the supplied harness on the inside of the cab, ziptieing it to the front reinforcement for the cab and the sunroof frame.
Terminate the harness. I terminated the ground on one of the sunroof mounting bolts. The hot I ran down to the passempas kick well and hooked it in to the clearance light wire there.
I will do a step by step later with pictures if people would like that. It won't be quite perfect as I didn't take any pictures of the process but I think I can get something thrown together.
Looks great!
I want cab lights on my truck but the wifey is trying to talk me out of them. She says they’re “papaw lights” that only old guys have them lol. She said the same thing about the side steps which, I do agree with. But I’m really wanting cab lights so not sure yet if I’ll embarrass the wifey and install them or not.
But she does like lift kits and big tires at least!

Thanks, I like clearance lights a lot. I think they really dress a truck up and make it look more like a truck. I like my running boards a lot too, I am short though. I have thoroughly been enjoying these small upgrades. Really set the truck apart I think.
I agree completely about the clearance lights. For some reason she likes the clearance lights on our big enclosed trailer but hates them on trucks. I think they really add to the appearance. I’m sure I’ll end up adding them to the truck eventually. Side steps tho, maybe when I’m 80! Lol
