New to this board, my summer car is a 01Mustang GT, but I also have a really cool 78 F-150. Bought some new coil lift springs for the front, however, the drivers side coil spring mount is shot.
ANyone know where i can get one? Junkyards here don't have any, and the dealers just laughed at me.
I also need a source for a driver front lower shock mount.
Hey Ben, I'd like to be the first to welcome you to FTE. This is an outstanding site I love it. I just bought the same things you need. I got mine from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard. www.broncograveyard.com they will have what you need.
Hope this helps.
you might have take the route i did. buit my own.... best thing would be to take it to a shop that does frame work, and have them fab up a new one..... won't be cheap though.

Yea, I'd bet that costs quite a bit more than the $25 and $30 JBG charges for the stock repacements.
theonlybull, do you have any pics of the spring pads you made?
ended up finding a set of the spring holders.
Problem now is that the ones one the truck are totally rusted and the bolts are rusted and rounded off.
I already have the spring out.
I guess im going to have to get them tourched out, but...
there isnt a nut they go in to is there, im goin to have to tru to back the bolt back out when i get the head off.
Any advice? its half apart and half in the garage and half out, gotta finish by tonight.
Nope, there isn't a nut. They just thread into the radius arm and C bracket.
I assume you've tried heating it up? Be careful not to melt your C bushing, especially if they're still rubber.
The bolts take a 9/16" if I remember, correct? You could try using a 6 point socket that is slightly undersized (14mm or 15mm). Take your undersized socket and pound it over the rounded bolt heads. This had worked on occasion for me.
Depending on how much the bolts are rounded, you may be able to get a 1/2" socket on them. If the bolts are 5/8", just move up a size on everything I said.
no go, i had to cut the topd off, leaving a half inch left to grab, I heated them up and got one out, not sure how im going to get the other out.
one other problem i ran in to is tha the original springs were a perfect circle on the bottom. the new skyjacker springs.. the bottom ogf the coil ends in the center of the coil instead of the outside. kind of like ( | ) instead of just ( ) (if your looking at it on end.

actually, i miss read his post, and thought he was refering to the upper mounts. althought the lowers shouldn't be too hard to fab up. i was gonna make a set for my father's 77 bronco, but the ones on our parts truck were still good, so i just grabbed those ones.
course if you can buy aftermarket ones for 25-35$ then why bother making any....

Anyone run in to this problem?
Thanks
Yup, but it's not a problem. It's supposed to be that way. The end you're talking about is the top of the spring. My Skyjacker springs are the same way. Are you saying BOTH ends of your springs are this way?
The little straps that hold the top of the spring in are a little tough to get bolted on since the spring is thicker.
