Alright, another problem here. There is a liquid leaking, very slowly, from the ujoint area where the passenger side front wheel meets the axle. I have no idea what it is, almost smells like brake fluid. But doesnt look like it. Any ideas on what it is and how it can be fixed.
Thanks again..
One more thing. I plan on getting four new tires real soon for my psd. The ones on there now are in pretty tough shape. What does everyone prefer?
As far as tires, you will probably get as many answers as there are replies... Looks like most are into Michelins and away from Firestones... I'll be using Mich's when the time comes... probably a higher ply too. A friend of mine uses 14 ply. yeap I said 14...
If the fluid is coming from the axle tube behind the axle u-joint, then the axle seal is starting to leak. You should be able to see if a trail of oil is originating from inside the axle tube. If the seal is leaking and becomes bad enough, the carrier will have to be removed, as the seal is at the differential side of the axle tube. Is the diff oil level oil level over full or the vent line plugged? This could also cause the seal to leak.

The fluid is coming from the axle tube behind the ujoint. How do I check the diff oil level? And if it is going is it expensive and/or difficult to do?
Remove the plug in the front cover on the differential. The oil level should be to the bottom of hole. Check the vent hose on the top of the diff. It runs to frame on the driver's side. Make sure it is not plugged. It may stop leaking if the hose is plugged and you clean it.

Go with the black ones. Yeah, definitely the black ones.
Black works really well for me, too....black tires match pretty much any color your truck might be. And make sure you get the round kind....trust me, you'll like them better.........
hey man....dont know if you have a 2wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive. eitherwhich way, for an all around tire i really like the BFG ALL TERRIAN tire. my friends father had them on his dodge 2500 cummins. HE GOT GREAT MILEAGE OUT OF THEM. i personally use the BFG MUD TERRIANS though. excellent tire
