226H Exhaust

Tried running a search but didn't generate much..

What are people doing for exhaust on a 226? I was considering straight pipe out the back.

Is this the proper flange for the 226? SpeedWay Flange

Any input on exhaust diameter and such?

Alex

Hi Alex,

I have purchased two exhaust systems from the same seller on e-Bay. One for the F2 about 4 years ago and one this year for the F3.
The seller is 'sat1966' and he puts together a good kit.
The gauge of steel is decent and the bends are spot-on. His system is for an F1 but all I needed was a couple of clamps, a hanger and a $12 extension pipe from a local parts store to easily make it fit the longer wheelbase. His price is better than what the local muffler shops around me would charge, including his shipping. He also makes a stainless steel version - although I'm happy with the aluminized style.
Perhaps if you contact him he can make you something for your F4??

Being as cheap as I am, I salvaged the exhaust off of an S10 I had sitting around and grafted it onto my F1 226. The flange on my manifold had a broken ear where the pipe flange stud goes, so I used an exhaust clamp to secure a bolt in place of the stud.

Anyone know if that flange is the correct one for the 226? I can't pull dimensions off of my motor right now.

Seems correct, but my exhaust flange is 3/8" thick and has the pipe protruding through it by about 3/16" acting as a pilot into the manifold, and the gasket slips over it. But maybe that's a 254/COE thing.
