Ditto on my driver vs passenger... driver wouldn't work off screen or button; passengers worked off either. Need to play with more; dealership said they haven't had failures or anything consistent they could point to... still have 2 years or 26,000 miles of warranty left. Curious if more failures will start rearing their heads!!
Went to the dealer on Friday for intermittent drivers seat massage/lumbar adjustment. After they re-seated the plug in the seat back I've had no more issues. The service writer said this has worked twice while two other trucks have required a new module.
Similar issue with my '17 250 Plat. Drivers and Passenger side massage and lumbar stopped working and the icons in the Sync display were grayed out. Took it to the dealer who diagnosed a "mis-routing" of the wiring & harness on the driver's side which was causing pressure / bad connection at the harness. They re-routed the wiring harness, re-seated the connector, and both sides have worked for the last month. Apparently, a bad connection on one side (driver) can cause issues on both driver and passenger.
Bingo on the intermittent problem. Just did a 1200 mile trip to coast. Driver massage worked first day, about 15-20 minutes and shut off as standard. Then today it would start and run about 1 1/2-2 minutes and shut off... did it every time I tried it. ( probably 10 plus times)
passengers has had worked flawlessly... I m thinking that connection or harness issue might be what I m experiencing. Time to take to Dealer!
uPDATE:
took to dealer, messed around with wiring under seat, moved a couple things out of way and started working... all the way home. Then when I went and got fuel... guess what, quit working again. Passengers still fine but Drivers side won't work via button on seat or via touch screen. Called them back looking for 'next step' !!!
