The other day i was driving ob fwy and noticed white smoke behind me. I kept looking back and didnt seem like much. Kept going for another 10 min and i couldnt even see behind me, i pulled over to find my 03 f250 covered with tranny fluid.. I had it towed to the dealer, and they fixed my tranny cooling line, it BURSTED OFF... so i asked them if this would effect the tranny, they said they tested it and everything was A OK. Next morning i leave my house and i blew up my transmission. Now they took apart my tranny and all the clutch plates are burnt and there having a ford inspector come to look at my truck, because it is lifted with bigger tires.. I have had so many problems with this piece of **** truck from day 1, icp sensor, 2 turbo problems, rear engine seal blown, oil pan gasket, cooling line leak, cooling line blew off, tranny blew up, 3in turbo hose blowing off, WHAT ELSE CAN GO WRONG WITH THIS CRAP!!!!!!! We will see what happins tomorrw when the inspector comes out to look at it.. When i get the truck back i will FILE FOR LEMON LAW.. If any1 has had as many problems as me please file for lemon law. I bought my truck april 19. 2003 and this is the 8th time in the dealership. total of 1month 5 days at dealer.. "SHOULD BOUGHT A CHEVY!!!!!!!!!"
ford is going to warranty the tranny, The dealership was trying to scare me because my truck is lifted, they had a investigator come to look at the truck. So now i have to wait for the trans to come in. As soon as i get my truck back im going for lemon law...
The lemon law is probably the second slowest way to get resolution of a problematic truck...
Slowest - Attorney and a personal lawsuit...
Fastest - talk to the area rep and have your receipts and info ready for them... They may offer a replacemnt, a buy back, or tell you to do the DSB... all of which should be faster than the lemon law...
But USE the lemon law as ammo for whatever avenue you take...
MOST states have 30 day in the shop within 360 day thresholds
Good luck,
there's bad apples in ALL the trees...
I've had problems with Chevy, Jeep, Pontiac, $100,000 motorhomes... they can all have issues !
thanks for your reply. My truck has a total of about 45-50 days in shop since april 19th and the dealership said that it will take another 2-3 weeks to get the tranny in. What should i do about the liftkit on my truck? shout i take it off as soon as i get my truck back?
I'm sure it does...
you might look up your state's lemon laws...
just go into any search engine like yahoo.com or google.com and enter california Lemon laws and you should find what you're looking for...
don't forget, vehicles have warranty for a reason. From what I'm told, if a competent shop performs ALL the updates IN FULL FROM START TO FINISH then the problems they know about should go away.
It's a new motor. When the 7.3L came out, with its problems at the start, everyone screamed for the old 6.9L!
