Hello everyone, I've been reading this forum all day and I'm very excited about how much information is here. I am attempting (with the help of a local mechanic when I can afford him) to fix my late brother's 2004 F150. My brother was a mechanic and you all know the saying about a mechanic's truck - his was the last one to get fixed. The truck is going to my son and he doesn't want to give the truck up even though it has been sitting for two years (it is running, just not shifting properly or going above 60kph (40mph) but was not doing this when it was parked. This was my brother's primary vehicle and it was driven every day until he died). My son wouldn't let anyone touch the truck at first - grief affects everyone differently. Anyway - right now the truck has had some work done to it but there seems to be an electrical problem that is interfering with my mechanic scanning the truck to see what else is going on. I'll post some specific questions I have in the correct forum. Just thought I would share a little info on what my situation is.
