Maintenance
than 5k a year. Truck is 92 f150 2whd. As far as I know it's never been done, this truck has been in the family for 20yrs, and has 200k on the odometer. I'm changing transmission fluid and filter. U-joints carrier bearing, saw bar bushings, and rear shocks. Since I'm under there I might as well do the differential.
I don't believe you need any Friction Modifier for your model.
Check your Owners Manual.
Rear cover screw torque 25-35 Ft Lb
Filler Plug 15-30 Ft Lb
if you use gasket sealer, use Gear Oil Sealant

You can't go wrong with Ford or Motorcraft lubricant, which will probably be a synthetic blend. I am using Lucas, but asking people about lube brands is like bringing up politics. I don't remember the exact quantity spec'ed out by the manual but when I did mine I needed most of three quarts.
If you have a clutch type limited slip (factory limited slip in this era Ford will be clutch type) you will need a bottle of friction modifier. You can determine what was in the truck from the factory from the door jam sticker and/or the differential tag. A standard differential does not require modifier.
If you have a clutch type limited slip then it may be a good time to replace the clutches.
I highly recommend that you replace the axle vent and hose. You can get the parts from Ford still, and they are inexpensive parts. If the axle vent clogs you pressure builds up and you end up with blown out pinion and axle seals.
