All, My tool truck is down. When I removed the Castle nut to replace the leaking pinion seal the nut came off very easily that is because the threads on the Pinion Drive are gone. Therefore I need a ring and pinion. This one is the 5.83/811 gear with the Ring having 35 teeth. That is what I want to retain so I still have freeway speed. If no ring and pinion is available...I will of course go for a full carrier or even a full drum to drum differential....anyone have one that I can buy? Any leads or suggestions are welcome...Does anyone know where/if I can have this pinion's threads repaired? Eaton 1350 2 speed.

Otherwise, my money would be on finding a newer 2-speed axle that might still have the same spindle dimensions (so you could use your current hubs)
Failing that, I would simply go to the newer axle that was put in F-600s in 1956-60.
That would probably require going to 6-lug hubs and wheels but that would be a good thing because you'll find more wheel choices. If you want to have the same on the front, you could go to a newer front axle too.
I think this might be the best choice.......and if you have not already gotten new wheels and tires, now might be the time to switch (then you can find new Alcoa 6-lug 22.5s for it!!)
I was in the same boat back in about 2005 when I discovered that my ring gear was severely rusted. Fleetpride in Seattle found me a used (but good) complete 2-speed pumpkin for $750. They also found a new (old-stock) ring and pinion but the price was ridiculous (and simply NOT worth it!)
1 choice is to find another truck with a usable rear axle. Those are not only hard to find but every one I found had water in the differential. (and RUST) It's amazing how many are out there but at 60-70 year old stuff is rarely in good shape!!

i was wondering if you found any parts for your Eaton or if you are willing to sell your pinion and ring set. I got a 1957 dodge c600 with a Eaton 2 speed 6.17 / 8.58 gears, and want a better highway gear. Lmk thanks
