Anti-Theft

I am a new ford enthusiast, and although I have rebuilt many cars, the explorer is new to me. I have recently bought a recoverd theft 2002 ford explorer xlt, although the car came with a keywich works for everything the car will not crank, I have been told that the key is not ¿programed for the car? this is why it will not turn over? Any suggestions??

Your Explorer has the immobilizer system. You might not be able to start is because of that. Take it to the dealership and let them program it for you. Good luck!

Bob, I'm curious as to how it was stolen in the first place. Was it towed away, or put on a carrier?

To my knowledge, no one has yet found a way to bypass the PATS anti-theft system......?
