Question Door sensor

1999 F350 superduty 4X4 7.3l Powerstroke.
The interior door light will not go out when the doors are shut till the truck reaches 30mph. When locking the horn beeps twice indicating door ajar.

What is the fix. Where to get parts.

Thanks

Does the door ajar light work? The switches for those are inside the door, attached to the latch. I've heard people lubing the latch real good with wd40 sometimes works.

Door sensor

I have a 2000 F350 and that happened to me a few weeks after I bought it [used]. I sprayed wd-40 in all 4 door hinges really good, and I've not had the problem since. I've had the truck for over a year now.

If that does not work I was told from the dealer it is the door senser [probably dirty connecters] $150.00 parts and labor.

Don't pay for labor unless you just want to do it yourself. they are just a plug in, not that hard to do.

I live on a dusty road and will clean the door sensors. Are they part of the locking system?

That depends what you mean by that. They are mounted to the back of the latch. ( the part that makes contact w/ the striker) All they are used for is the light though.

Thanks for the info. I will be cleaning them this weekend. Can the door sensors be purched off the net? if the cleaning does not work.
