I had my 2000 Excursion stolen a year ago and since returned 6 months later. Among other things, the rear seat was missing and it is very difficult to find a replacement. If anyone knows where I can find one, I would appreciate it. The color is the tan cloth. Thanks!
I'm not sure if I can help you with your back seat but...
I would like to build on your topic and maybe I can ship you mine. I have a 2000 with brown cloth interior and I hate the back seat!
I needed a 7 passenger with cargo people hauler so the choice was the same old Ford vs Chevy...Excursion vs Suburban. But I needed a real truck so went with the X.
But Mr. Ford should take a lesson from Mr. Chevy's interior guys. The Suburban seats, even the 3rd row are excellent while Ford seemed to have a bunch of seats left over from late 80s Aerostars that were convenient to throw in the Excursion.
If anyone out there knows of an aftermarket seat company that has a drop in 3rd row seat that fits the X, I'd love to hear about it. A seat with arm and headrests. Mr. Ford...is that too much to ask in a zillion dollar truck?
Long story on how it was stolen, partly my fault but you live and learn!
Capt. Dan...thanks for the info but it doesn't appear those sites have any X seats. Thanks again!
Thanks all for your replies! I have seen a couple, non matching, on ebay and will keep my eyes open for the right one. Also ran across a couple other places:
Has their own version, 2 styles, basic for $598 and custom for $798 and $150 added if you want leather. Shipping starts at $58. They don't reference the X seats on their website but shoot them an email and they will send you pictures.
ChuckC12, I feel for you because a car was stolen from me too. It took two months until they found it in New Mexico. But Chuck, this has us all baffeled here, how did someone manage to steal your Excursion? Right before the dealership handed me my keys, they explained the security system to me. They said it couldn't be started unless you have the keys. If that's the situation, please take no offense, I'm not here to make light of your situation. If you'll post the story here, nobody here is going to poke fun at you or what happened. In addition to that, I think I speak for everyone when I say that respect is something that everybody on this forum maintains for each other. So fear not if you so choose to share your story. We'd all appreciate it.
OK, here is the deal. I am actually leasing (I know, stupid thing to do!) my Excursion and I was trying to get out of the lease by entering into a lease to purchase agreement with another person. I signed a contract with the guy where he would pay me for 2 months, up front, and then purchase the truck from me after the two month period. He told me that he was buying a house and didn't want the payments to show up on his credit report! Anyway, we signed the contract, he paid me for 2 months in advance and everything was good, I thought. I cashed the first check and guess what? It bounced! I tried to find him and of course I couldn't. Luckily I had his DL # and reported him to the cops. To make a long story short, the cops found him, arrested him, and threw hi a*# in jail. He is now serving time in the Colorado corrections facility for quite awhile! Meanwhile, I kept the insurance on the truck while it was missing, I reported it to my insurance company when I got it back since there was about $8K worth of damag, and they told me they wouldn't cover it because I violated my insurance policy by "sub leasing".
BTW, I really like the truck. I even went out and bought an F150 SC after I thought I had sold the X.
So, that's my story. No sympathy and no crap from anyone. One of those mistakes you learn from and hopefully makes life better!
No stuff from here except to say...
How fast are these crooks (and telemarketers) going to drive us into the cra??er ?
It's too bad you can't trust anyone any more...
But I'm like you...
us trustWORTHY people like to project those same traits in others !
And that has ruined a lot of potential friendships and relationships before they even start !
Don't they KNOW they WILL be found out ?
Maybe not... I guess that's why they have "Stupid" and "Criminal" in the same sentences a lot!
