i have a 92 ranger custom with 800k on it (yes you rad that right )
the problem since 130k has been the manual tranny
it has continually leaked and given me problems.
i have paid for this thing to get fixed over and over again
the last 2 times i have rebuilt it myself and has lasted twice as long as any that i have paid for.
my question is
i am looking for a tranny repair manual (mitsubishi)
to get proper end play and specs for this tranny
If you are spending that much money, why not go ahead and convert it to a T-5 so you will get more life out of it? Those mazda trannys are japanese junk from what I hear.
i have not done any research about a t5
does it bolt right up or will you have to use some kind of coupling plate?
what about clutch and such?
and does it use the same master slave set up for the throwout bearing.
I think there are some companies that you can find online that sell conversion kits to use so you can bolt up a T-5. The T-5 is the tranny used in Mustangs. It's quite a bit stronger.
