Hey guys, I just got a 1977 F150 and the visor pin broke on my. passenger side visor. It looks like pot metal and broke in half leaving the other half inside the visor. How do you get them out and install the new ones? I can’t see what holds them in.
1973/75 and 1976 F100/350 before serial number A50,001 are gray plastic: D0DZ-6204114-B
1976 from serial number A50,001, 1977/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco are "bright" which I assume means metal: D6TZ-1004114-B
Inside the visor itself is a split 'C' shaped sleeve that expands when the visor pin and visor rod (04144) are inserted.
Carpenter has repro'd the pin, but is using the 1973/79 car type that was also used on 1977/91 Econolines: D3AZ-6504114-B .. Ford TRUCK Parts Catalog says "paint to match."
There are a few of the original D6TZ-1004114-B pins available NOS
Those are just friction fit, push and shove to put them in, and there tight! The only way I can think to get that out is to drill and tap the center and screw a bolt in till tight. Then turn the bolt in to get it to twist, but pull out at the same time.
Thanks Kingford72 I didn’t want to pull it out, even though I didn’t see any other way it was in there. The piece that’s left in the visor might be a challenge.
They are friction fit on both ends. Pull the visor rod out of the other end ,insert a long rod through the visor, and drive the broken pin out. A straight piece of 3/16 brake line works good.

That, sir, is a good idea! I replaced mine on my '77 F-100 and lucked out with not having any real problems. I took out the rods on the other end of the visors to clean them and now that you mention it, that would be a great way to push them out. I have a second set with one broken like the OP's, so I think I'm gonna go ahead and try that out sometime! Saaweet.
