At first I thought this was a cheesy reply to a fellow member in need. After watching the video I can honestly say I have never heard that song and it is very funny and they do mention mudflaps...lol. Nicely done!
I have done a search with very little luck. Has anyone put mudflaps on this era truck? Pictures?
I don't have pictures...... and I haven't installed flaps on the front.... but I did cut pieces of 1" angle iron with a notch cut out at about 2" to allow me to bend the 2" over at a right angle and fasten it to the frame, then had maybe 12-14" extend outward behind the rear wheels to allow a square-ish sections of rubber belting to be fastened to it and hang behind the rear tire. By doing this, the flap was functionable, but I didn't have to drill holes/fasten the flap to the fender. In a sense, it was free hanging behind the tire. I cut the flap so that it hung just below the centerline of the tire - as I didn't want it too long to flap in the wind while at traveling speed. Hope this helps some.... BarnieTrk
If has flat bed either in srw or drw most if not all states dot required them as today. Some states require drw with regular beds to have mud flaps. I have seen them back in 70s with Keep on Truckin, and Yosemite Sam on 1/2 p/u s .
