My 97 cclb 4x4 with auto trans is having inconsistent shifting issues. The issues are not in one particular gear and do not happen all the time. Although when it does happen it seems to be more often going from 2nd to 3rd. As I am accelerating the truck will not shift out of gear unless I let off the accelerator pedal. The truck continues to pick up speed and the rpms go up but no shift into the next gear. Then other times I will have what I consider a hard shift into different gears. Most of the time the truck will shift perfectly fine. Also, my abs light is always on and never goes off. And occasionally when I am driving my e brake light will pop on for a brief minute or so then go back off. The e brake light does not come on very often. But when I put my e brake on, when the truck is running, the brake light does not light up. I used torque pro on my truck last night and didn’t have any codes (not sure how reliable that is though). My brake fluid is filled. My speedo is working. My 3rd brake light works. My OD light is not flashing. I did notice last night when I was checking my 3rd brake light that one of my reverse lights is out. Not sure if that matters but I also never thought the 3rd brake light being out could affect anything. We are planning to drain the fluid from the trans and torque converter this wknd and replace the filter, fluid and add some Hot Shot Secret transmission stiction eliminator. When I bought the truck I was told it had the tranny rebuilt but there was no documentation. Really hoping for a easy fix...speed sensor? Accelerator pedal sensor? Tranny solenoid? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, will a snap on solus scanner be compatible with my truck?

 

Changing the fluid and filter is a good first step. In another thread you talked about the speed sensor, did that do any good?
