Folks, I have these components that, along with the bar going to the transmission, are what is necessary to set up the transmission kick down functionality on i6 in my 71 f100. Well I hope they are the right parts.
However, I am challenged. How does one disassemble the kick down control shaft (Not correct part names I know) so that I can feed it through the other components?
I hope it is obvious from my description what I am trying to do.
Might be clear as mud.
well perhaps that is not the correct part per the drawing. Might be from an older or newer iteration (betting older - or did they have automatic transmissions and straight sixes in the slick sides).
The part does line up with all of the attachment points and does have a raised indention to accommodate a part on the rear mounting hole. The spring holder matches up with the spring holder on the original assembly.
The part, when attached to the engine does line up with the holes on 9741 and 9730. I have a spare 9730 (I might cut a slot in it to make it slide over it.
So I guess the next question is does anyone recognize that part and what year it came from, perhaps I can get this capability using another year's components.
Don't listen to 'em, 'Ranger, they's just jealous that their engines don't look as nice as yours does
Thanks.
With some elbow grease, cleaning, bead blasting, primer and paint, their engine could look just as nice or nicer. It just depends on how much effort and detail you're willing to put into it as to how nice you want something to look.
I like for things to not only work well but to look good doing it.
