Anyone figured out what changes can be made with rangers through the as built data on forscan? I recently got forscan and the extended license and plugged it in to see what could be done on my fathers 2008 ranger his tire pressure light has been on from a failed sensor for probably 9 years and he has no intention of ever fixing it .... so I thought maybe I would turn it off for him with forscan (he's a licences mechanic and he checks his tires) but I am having trouble finding really any info for the rangers. If anyone has a link to a spread sheet for rangers or has the as built data from a truck with out tpms it would be a big help.
Realizing that the low tire pressure indicator system was required on vehicles due to Federal law enacted by Congress, it would make little sense for Ford (ESPECIALLY Ford) or any other automaker to make it possible to defeat this feature. Tires also develop leaks while driving; obviously in cases other than a blowout or a very large puncture there will be a period of time where the driver (could be a mechanic) will not realize he's driving on a tire with low pressure, nor does the driver check the air pressure while driving; as such the system isn't exactly a bad idea. Realizing this, go replace the sensor, they're very very inexpensive. Bonus.....maybe you can teach dad how to use FORSscan to check the pressure in all four of his tires (hello Y2018).
