1979 F100 Wont Crank- Help Troubleshoot
Brand new to the Forum.
Have a 1979 F100 Explorer, 302, Auto. Had been performing flawlessly, but a few weeks back - turn the key & nothing.
I've since had the battery retested as good, rebuilt the starter, installed a new relay, new cable from relay to starter, new ground strap from firewall to hood.
Now I'm at a loss... still does not turn over. And I also have no headlights & that is baffling me too.
Could someone please help me troubleshoot the steps to beat this demon?.. I can use a multimeter, etc to do any testing. (Tonight, with key turned on... no power to S terminal...did have power to I Terminal...No power to starter) Not sure where to go from here.
Really hoping to get it going by Saturday, because I'm hoping to go to an auction & haul some things back home..
Thanks in advance.

The fusible link is in the Accessory Power wire which attaches to the Fender Mounted Starter Relay, where the Positive battery cable goes, along with the power lead for the horn.
When my fusible link blew, I had absolutely no electrical power anywhere! I thought the battery had died until it sparked when I was investigating.

Any wire that is on the battery cable end of the starter solinoid is a12V "+" feed. trace down the wires that are there a short way and you will see a rubber lump, either square or round depending on the car. test it past the lump with your test light. If it is dead they can be bought at a good parts store, or you can replace it with an inline fuse holder and a 30 amp fuse. IF you trace that wire, you will usually come to a place that is melted, so it's easy to spot.
