Speedometer not working
I have a problem and can' find answers anywhere. I have a 1988 F150 4x4 I6 5 speed. Speedometer quit working while driving to work a few weeks ago. The odometer still works so I don' think it is the cable or speed gear. I don't want to swap out the speedometer because I would lose my original odometer reading (it just rolled over 100,000 original miles!) I have looked for someone to repair the speedometer and have no luck. I'm looking for diagrams, pictures, someone who has repaired the internals of a speedometer to show what it is suppose to look like when I pull it and take it apart. Any help is greatly appreciated!

There are some speedometer repair places when you do a google search. Or you could just order a used speedometer or complete cluster off Ebay. I'm sure you could just swap the speedometer in and may be able to swap your odometer wheel also. If you go that route, you will want to get one that didn't have an automatic transmission scale.
