Really want to level it and put it on 37/11.50s, but just cant bring myself to just throw some money away at something that will serve no functional purpose for my intended use. What do you older more experienced guys have to say? Should I just drive it and forget about messing with stuff that I dont need to?
I'm a "mature" member of society so I'll say let it ride like it is at least until you get ready to buy new tires. I have over 50k on the Michelins and they are doing fine. That will give you more time to make up your mind. Either way, its your truck so do what makes you happy. Good luck with your decision.
Hey super-truck, nice ride. If you're good with all the little things that come along with what you want to mod, go for it. Figuring out those little things is the trick. A few annoying things you may encounter are tire/wheel fitment issues, potential alignment issues (requiring different alignment bushings), potential increased bump steer, tpms issues (having to get Forscan to correct), driveline vibrations accelerating from a stop (driveshaft carrier bearing mostly from lifting the rear but leveling, not sure), and possible issues with your adaptive cruise if you have it. I'm not saying you'll have these problems but I have encountered some of these on some of the Super Duty's I've modified. Not trying to discourage you, just some things to consider.
If I had it to do over, I still would have done it. But, I have spent 2 months and a few hundred dollars getting it right after just a 2"bds level. I am trying to get it as perfect as I can, but like stated earlier , be prepared for a trade off. Most important, find someone you trust to balance the tires
Only 47 but I act like an old guy...
I don’t see the point to lifting and huge tires if you’re not using the lift a justifiable amount of time.
This is coming from a guy that lives in the flats, tows 10-15 times a year and could prolly do it all with an F150....
I did however put BFGs on stock 20s after 8k...
if it feels good-do it.
I like the trucks leveled for when I'm running empty.
But a leveled truck ends up Nose High when I hook up a trailer and I get flashed at night,
So even though leveling is fairly cheap. It ends up costing me almost a $1000 to add air bags and compressor so I can stay level when I tow.
I order my trucks with the cheapest tires/wheels Ford will put on the model I order.
I take the truck over to tire store the day I get it and put on the wheels and Tires I like, Which for me has been 20x9 Wheels with 295/65R20 tires. ( Which are 35")
I put my factory tires on the internet and they usually sell with in 3-5 days for $800-$1000 Couple that with the money I saved by not paying Ford for 20" wheels and AT tires, I end up with $2400-$2600 towards the tires/wheels I buy. Which pretty much covers the cost of the look I want. Instead of some plastic coated wheels.
The level and 35" tires cost me about 2 mpg in fuel mileage over previous trucks that I ran stock. I'm sure your 37" tires will cost you another 1-2 mpg in fuel mileage.
Also a 2" leveling kit and 35" tires still keeps me under 7foot total height, So I can go thru the automatic car wash and get into parking garages.
I don't want anything any taller than Leveled. I tow too much and my trucks are already getting taller and taller in comparison to the trailers
OK, I'm over 60.. I just don't see the need to 'level' and have all the 'level' threads,, it's truck,, meant to do work.. The only way I can justify different tires, if it means I won't get stuck.. My new truck is still on order, but any pics I post - it will be covered in mud, or doing work, not sitting in the Mall parking lot looking spotless.. My truck is meant to pull our 5ver, pull my ATV & trailer to the nastiest muddy places..
Since you’re asking for opinions from old guys, I’m guessing you’re a younger guy. If that’s the case then I’d go ahead and jack that thing up and slap on the big rubber. I can’t remember how many trucks I did that to when I was younger. Roll bars, KC lights, lift kits, and triple shock hoops were all the rage back then. I have a lot of fond memories of those trucks and the young ladies that accompanied me to the drive-in movie in them but that’s a topic for another thread! I guess my point is, you’re young and if you have the money to spend without shorting any of your other financial responsibilities then go for it. Have fun with your toys now and then when you get old you can just shake your head at the goofy kids driving around in their lifted electric trucks.
I am 53 yrs old. Not sure if that qualifies as older to you. I say do not do anything unless it enhances your trucks capability. Even with that, make sure what ever mod you decide on doesn't increase the hassle of using it. Many have already been posted. Also remember you will rarely get back what you have put into it monetarily when it is time to sell. I changed my wheels because I like a lip on mine, but stayed with the same size and tire. I have put about 2500 in stereo equipment as I love music. So just keep all those things in mind. Enjoy!

What is your intended use?
Here are my thoughts; I've done the whole big truck thing with programmers, intake, exhaust, 40's, 14" wide wheels, 12.5" lift, etc. These new trucks aren't work trucks anymore, they're so expensive and classy, I like the quiet cab and they have plenty of horsepower. Go with the leveling kit and 37x12.50's! It keeps the truck manageable but will still demand attention, I haven't seen the 11.50 in person but I've got a pizza cutter in my kitchen that gives me a pretty good idea what they will look like! Level it and don't look back!
Don’t go crazy. I have 34” tires on my dually which are bigger than stock with the 20” wheels. I get looks. If Ford would put some nice dually wheels I may have not upgraded. Think about going 35” and it is bigger than any stock. Also i went 1.5” front level so i had a little room to tow level. I did do bags for 5er tho.
