Rear axel vent

I recently got in my 1994 Ford F150 and the brake pedal went to the floor. I put brake fluid in it and got underneath the truck while my son pumped the brakes. I noticed every time he pumped the brakes fluid would come out of a hose on the rear axel. I later discovered this hose is the rear axel vent. I have 2 questions: 1. Why is brake fluid coming out of the hose? 2. How do you replace the part that the hose is attached to. (A brake line comes into this fitting and then branches a brake line to each of the rear wheels. the same part also has the vent tube) attached is a pic of the fitting. Thank you.

Rear axlevent hose is slit about 8 inches up. When brakes are pumped fluid comes out of the ruptured hose? the 3 lines coming into the fitting are brake lines. How do you remove this fitting?

The rear "axle" vent on my '89 F250 unscrews after the brake lines are removed, Brake fluid should not be coming from the hose unless the axle vent fitting is cracked. If it is coming out of the hose it is probably entering the rear axle housing as well. Hope this helps!

It's not coming out the vent, it's coming from the brake hose itself. As posted above, the tee block is probably cracked.
Just replace the rear brake hose, the block is part of it. Easy to do on our trucks. Make sure that the hard line on the frame is not rusted to its nut, because you don't want to twist off the hard line with its double-flare.

I'd wager the vent is blocked preventing brake fluid, or at least a significant amount, from getting into the axle. That's a large volume to fill before fluid has no choice but to come out the vent.

What you're looking at is a fitting block that couples the rubber brake line from the frame (top of the block) with the hard lines to the wheel cylinders (at the sides). The block is bolted to the axle tube with a hollow bolt that's got a nipple on the end for the vent tube (closest to the camera). That vent tube goes up to the frame or bed somewhere and has a little plastic cap looking thing at the end to keep bugs and junk out.

My best guess is that your soft line is ruptured and you're confusing it with the vent hose because they both come off the same block. If it's not that, then I am as confused as you are!
