The tallest part of my truck is at the BACK of the cab, a measured 83 and 1/4" inches high.
That sounds right as the rear of the truck is higher than the front. My driveway slopes down as I enter the garage and the slope of the garage floor slopes up ever so slightly. I'll try to get some pics later of the antenna, cab lights and rear cab clearance from the header.
Antenna pic should've been taken about 6'' further back, so it looks lower than cab lights but it isn't.
cab light clearance about 3/4''
Rear cab clearing header
I took these pics while backing out of the garage and should've taken them when I got home pulling into the garage. The garage floor sits about 1'' higher than the concrete footer right in front so the truck lowers as it goes out. Plus I didn't take the cab light/ antenna pic in exactly the same spot so the antenna seems like its lower than the cab lights but it isn't. Rear cab area seems to have the most clearance but it drops first as I back out.
Flurries last night and just plain cold today. Tomorrow night they're calling for 1-2''. Hoping for some warmer weather but I think I missed the memo about Spring being cancelled in southern Indiana.
On my 2017 F350 the antenna mount has broken. I'm sure it has to do with lots of times thru the car wash and a bird that nailed it. Anyway, after I replace the mounting bracket I would like to add a shorter antenna. I do like the Bullet style but am worried it is to rigid and will do this again in future car washes. Also contemplating a 12-14' stubby style antenna. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
my base just broke. How did you get to it to remove it? I’d like to avoid the dealer if possible.
Just replaced my stock antenna with a stubby antenna. Both my stock and my stubby have 2-3 thread's still exposed as if they are not all the way screwed down. Anyone else have this issue? Both antenna's have worse reception than my 05 F150 and Wife's 13 Edge.
I have an 21" antenna and the threads on it are odd. The stud that came with the antenna is loose, not fixed within the antenna. So I have to be careful when removing it not to lose the stud.

Reason: Corrected antenna length
I have the Craven stubby antenna. I have mixed reviews. I listen to sports radio on am and thankfully I can receive them some what clear. FM is pretty good.
I must confess I really like the design and was very excited to install it and have the same reception as the oem antenna. How about Ford catches up
and installs the antenna in the windshield like most of the others that did it in the 90's !!
I remove my antenna each time I run the truck through the car wash. Since it gets removed often enough I doubt that I'll have a problem with the threads getting stuck. But I was thinking of putting a dab of anti-seize on the threads that go into where it mounts into the truck. To keep the stud in the antenna I was going to use some Loctite Blue. Would either of these compromise the signal strength?
