Fuel tank problem..........

I have an 81 F-250 with duel fuel tanks. The rear tank won't fill up. Everytime I try to, it "spits" the gas back out on the poor guy who is trying to fill it. Someone told me the vent tube my be bent or clogged. How do I inspect it to see if this is the problem? I was told I didn't have to remove the tank....is this true? The front tank is starting to do the same, but not as bad. As long as the fuel is poured in slow, it fills fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Look under the truck. There is a large and smaller rubber hose from the filler neck to the tank.

The smaller one is inside the larger one. If the smaller one collapses, you will have fueling problems.

i had the same problem if while refueling on a slight slope. Once I got it on level ground or sloping away from the fuel cap, no problem. I would suggest a look at your relief tube.
