Alternator bracket for a flathead 6 cylinder (1950 Ford F1)
Looking all through Google, etc to buy a premade bracket for a 1 wire alternator on a 1950 flathead 6 cylinder unsuccessfully. Plenty out there for a flathead 8 though...
I may just start fabbing one but it would sure be easier to just click on a website and wait. I just need this flathead to run through the summer. Anyone have a line on a bracket?
I'm converting it to 12 volt just to get me through the summer because the generator is Duff

Not sure what your search terms were, but several sources popped right up on a search for "Ford 226 alternator bracket". For instance (and I'm not endorsing MAC's): https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...-cylinder.html

You have a couple of options. You can get an alternator that's wired into a generator frame so it's like a direct replacement, no mods needed.
Alternators
Or you can go the Delco 10/12 Si route like I did with the bracket from Mac's. The bracket will require a little trimming because it's a little too fat in one spot. Also, you will need to get the smallest pulley possible in order to spin up the alternator. AND if you are also switching from positive to negative ground you will need to reverse the direction of the wire through the ammeter pickup. Do you know what size alternator you will be getting? This will have an impact on your existing wiring if you're planning on using it.
