Bill, here is a picture that I snapped of the front of my motor. Tons of room in comparison to what is there on the 10th Gen. Yes, it is filthy under there....lol.

Neil that's definitely a lot more space than I have with all the mechanical fan and stuff in the road.

That is the upper radiator hose and the box above that is the under hood fuse/relay box. The e-fans are mounted right under that so it does open that right up. At least the oil filter is easy to get to

I just gotta reach through my fender to get to my filter. Has a remote kit on it so it's not buried too far.

Yeah, it's nice. I should have a shroud or something there to protect it - the Expedition does have one as it also has the relocated filter - but right now there isn't one there.

Yeah, those 2010 models have been noted to have a rust issue there. Part of the deal, if I remember right, is that there's some foam in the cab corner/rocker area somewhere and it traps moisture. But the good thing is if you get it caught and treated right now, should be good for quite a while.

That looks nasty, Neil!

Bill,
I finally saw the pics of that salt truck out east. Ouch! I bet he could take the crown as #1 Snow-hater right now! I wonder if he's on FTE????

I am not sure about the foam part but it is a design flaw in the 12th Gen. I got an estimate on Friday for replacing the rockers at $2500. The rear bumper needs some attention also on the lead edges on the sides. They would clean those up and paint for an additional $200 at the same time. I am going to get a couple of more estimates but I have heard good things about this shop.

Jason I'm sure he's hating it something awful. He also probably doesn't have a job anymore...

Neil - yeah I can't recall what exactly it was but yes a design flaw none the less. $2500 isn't awful so long as it's taking care of the issue once and for a long time at least.

It is a small shop so I believe that the price is reasonable. There is another family owned shop that has been in the area for quite a long time that I will get another price from.

I was hoping to see my paint guy this winter for some things, but that hasn't panned out. I wanted to give him the OBS to replace the right front fender and such, but he didn't want it in the shop with a fuel leak (understandable) and I haven't had the chance to fix it til now...

And the morning's snow is just about gone. Grass is back out here at work...

You definitely can not blame him for that. No need of having the shop go BOOM!

Certainly. Just been hard to get to the leak with the weather and what not - so it's delaying me and I'm getting frustrated by that...
