Alternator
I have a 99 navigator my alternator went out.I had trouble getting one because the alternator that came on my car had a bracket on top also. The other alternators for my car just had the 2 bolts on bottom. My question is could i put the alternator on that doesn't have the top bracket.

Alternator
Well the second alternator i put on my Navigator i think is trying to go out. When i slow down my headlights dim and fan slows down. Is there anything that can be making them go bad. They are refurbish ones from autozone. Or should i just buy a new one.

Check for voltage drops on the ground side of the alternator.
With head lights and heater fan on high and engine ~2000 rpm,
negative volt meter lead on the alternator frame,
positive volt meter lead on the negative battery POST,
you would like to read less than ~0.25 volt being dropped.
