I was at Kragens yesterday trying to get a fuel filter to replace the factory original that is in my truck. I asked him for a Motorcraft since they used to carry them. They don't anymore but the guy behind the counter said to use a fram. He said that Motorcraft filters are made by Allied Signal, the same guys that make fram. I think this guy is full of it but I wanted to make sure. I bought the filter from a Ford dealer but there is no indication on the box anywhere as to its origin. Any information would be appreciated.

Filter Question
PbFoot -- I read the very same thing, just recently. Also, DO NOT USE FRAM FILTERS!!! EVER!!! They are known to clog, have poor anti-drain back guarding, and just plain suck. Can't tell you how many posts I've read from guys who complained about oil pressure when they had the Fram, and switched to Motorcraft to resolve their problems.
I like the silicone anti-drain back valve in the new Motorcrafts. The Super Tech is also a good filter, but I think it still has the regular rubber valve.
