Gents I am in need of new shocks on my 2000 limited V10. I just need a standard duty shock that's economical and provides a smooth ride for normal driving. I would appreciate some recommendations.
I have the monroe gas magnums on my truck (yellow ones). Thinking about trying something better. are you a 4x4 or 2wd? Either way a set of 4 will run about 140 shipped from rockauto.

Nothing really. I put them on because they were inexpensive and what came on the truck were worn out. I have a 450 so it is a little stiff and considering something better before a cross country trip this year. Mostly curious if I will fell a difference between what I have and something more expensive without spending the big bucks.

Scott - good deal, let's compare notes when we both have them installed. I am getting my ex in shape to be a daily driver here in Florida. Have done brakes and transmission a couple years ago and am now working on the suspension. Tie rods and ball joints done, now tires and shocks.

Absolutely~ They will be put on this weekend and I'll send you some initial evaluations. Thanks for sharing as it lead me to a great deal!
I got a set of 4 Monroe blues for my truck for around $102 shipped for my 4wd Ex via RockAuto. They ride ok, certainly not Bilsteins but they are miles better than my OEM ones that were rusted and 99k miles old.
