Easy, shave some weight off your lead foot. Seriously, it seems more than a little scary to do 93+ in a high roll center vehicle most likely with tires that aren't rated for that speed.

your running 4.10 gears, you must be getting like 10MPG at 93 mph. change the gearing to a 3.73 or 3.55 for more top end, but then your acceleration will drop to. This isn't easy to do though, it would be kind of expensive.

You know, I've always thought this too. But last weekend I was coming back from Cincinatti on I-75, and traffic was running around 90 mph. So my new truck was maxed out (by the computer) just trying to "go with the flow". I was not happy.

These trucks have so much more power to give, yet Ford won't let them give it with that silly computer program. I don't think driving fast on a regular basis is something anyone should do. But occasionally it happens, and it's foolish that my $25K truck cuts me off before I'm done.

So far, the only way I know of around it is with a chip. And if you get a chip burned for your truck, you'll have to use 93 octane all the time, which almost makes it not worth it.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but can't you use a programmer, like the ones hypertech make to adjust the rev limiter and tweak the other specs to squeak out more power for the lower octane fuel?

your 02 stops at 93 ?! my 96 3.0L stops around 100-105. try a chip or a programmer.

The ranger wasnt designed for that speed. You will get harmonic vibrations that will eventually cause your whole driveline to fail.

Also A stock ranger is downright scary at 90+
You might want to look into lowering and putting some performance tires on.

If you want to go 90+ I suggest something made/designed to go that fast.

That being said a chip will eliminate the limiter.

I don't know if this will work with a 4.0, but maybe you can find something like it. If your 4.0 has an auto I would just go for the chip and get some performance gains while you're at it.
