Love'm, But It depends on the vehicle. The classic, BFG lettering will ruin some trucks. Others, perfection. It's the size of the tires sidewall that makes or breaks the deal.
Don't like white lettering, had them in the past, also have turned them in the past, don't buy them. My new truck will not have them......That being said, my F350, dually, needs a set now and the ones I really wanted only come W/white lettering, turning them on a 1 ton screws up the rotating.
Just like with my motorcycles, I do what I think looks best. It's my money, the other guy's opinion means zero.
Now that I think about it, polls like this are foolish and I wish I could have the time back that I wasted here.

Oh come on man, just a bunch of "Truck Guys" talking trucks. I have white walls on my Harley, just don't want them on my truck. Maybe you would find "Face Book" more to your liking, me 'NOT".
It depends on the style and size of the wheel, on the sidewall height, even the color of the vehicle.
That being said, I'll usually err on the side of white letters out.
No problem with no white letters, but I think white letters turned in (esp if the blue protective coating is still on) looks really bad - just cheap.
I keep them looking nice and bright white with Westleys Blech-Wite Tire Cleaner - using it for years - even cleans the black so that the tire dressing works better.
We need a box for “depends on the truck”. But please don’t turn them in, they look really stupid on the inside! Yes they an still be seen even when they are turned in. If you want a black wall tire please just buy a black wall tire...
If you want a tire with white outlined letters or solid white letters then buy one. If you want black wall tires then buy that. But please, please, please don't buy white letters and put them on the inside. They are still visible and people think you have your tires on backwards...
For the record, I prefer white letter tires. Specifically, BFG AT/K's. And as mentioned earlier, Sam's Club tires should be black wall. Rather elitist, I know, but whatcha gonna do?
Haha! My thoughts exactly! White letters always out, black side walls (on both sides) if you don’t like white lettering...
I think it depends on the vehicle AND the tire brand. For example, the GoodYear Wrangler is like the classic raised white letter tire. A Michelin tire? Not so much. They look OK, but raised white letters is an American thing and so a French tire company doing OWL is kind of a head scratcher. I like Michelin tires as highway tires, but maybe not with raised white letters. Also, when I custom ordered my dually, I specifically wanted the BSW A/T tires. White letters look silly on a dually, in my opinion. They have small tires to begin with and are not off-road trucks. Even when I put 35" BFG KO2 tires on my 2016 King Ranch, I did a BSW. White letter tires look strange on a luxury truck, in my opinion. But I like having the white letters on my current F-250 FX4 with Wranglers on it.
Depending on the tire, I don't really mind the white letters, just getting older and looking for less maintenance. We turned both my wife's F150 and mine inside out at a scheduled oil change and rotation. Best 90 bucks I spent. When I order replacement tires, I order bsw. Some OWL start to look raggedy after a while. Some hold up well. All depends on the tire.
If I had to choose between identical trucks to purchase I would pick the one without white lettered tires. White lettered tires have been going out of style for a while now same as pin stripping and two tone paint jobs.
LOL! At least I got the blackwalls right. That's my truck in the top picture of Expy's post!!
