Best Speakers

it’s time for some new speakers in my 97 F-250 extended cab. I want to keep my factory head unit so I know not to expect too much from a simple speaker swap.
that being said, what size and brand do y’all recommend?

Your stock speaker locations use a 6x8"/5x7" size. These are interchangeable sizes and both go the the factory location without a problem. If I were doing it, I would install the Polk Audio MM 572. This is a Premium ($200/pair) 5x7" Coaxial speaker. If I was looking for a cost efficient option I would look at the Pioneer TS-A6886R, a 6x8" value priced speaker that will still be a noticeable improvement over factory speakers. Both of these speakers are high efficiency type speakers (with the factory head unit you are very power limited) so a speaker with a greater than 90dB @ 1W/1m is important to good (low distortion) performance. Good Luck, Russ
