parking brake woes
recently my parking brake foot pedal broke, i have no parking brake at this time because the whole lever/pedal came out of the bracket under the dash.
ive been thinking, the cable brake system is kind of a pain in my *** anyway, the PO held the bracket under the truck bed with zip ties and i really do not use the parking brake all that much, usually just find a curb to park against or keep her in the ole "granny" low gear and it wont go anywhere.
i have read somewhere probably Facebook that you can use a line lock in place of a parking brake, as i am somewhat researching online it seems that the line locks are actually a drag car system and that they use them for just short periods of time.
my question is can i use it for my application? if so how exactly does someone go about routing the brake lines?

The line locks are used on various types of construction equipment and are very effective at holding the brakes. Mico is one of the brands that comes to mind off the top of my head. You can probably get on Mico's site and see if it has install instructions for you to see if it would work for your truck.

Note with the micro lock it holds pressure in the system. If it uses power to keep it set it will run the battery down.
Also because it holds pressure if you get a leak, say wheel cylinder or a line blows no more ebrake.
AND if for some unknown reason you lose all hydraulic brakes you will not have a backup, that is what that cable system is for too.
Me I would replace the stock pedal.
2 or 3 bolts thru fire wall maybe 1 to bottom of dash or the kick panel, undo cable and it's out.

I'd just remove and replace the broken foot bracket and then get the underneath and un zip tie what ever the PO did and mount it correctly. A working park brake is a law in some states...and a great thing to have if you blow a brake line some time.
You are looking for a manual "line lock or lever lock park brake" set up.
