IDK WHAT TO DO! i keep it full but it still slips. i hope i havent already burned somethin up.thanx
I'm assuming that it's just the pan that's leaking - you may want to verify that it's not something above the pan, like the servo cover, the dipstick o-ring, or the shifter shaft seal. Maybe even one of the cooler lines. These will all seep down to the pan and make it look like it's the pan.
I just went through this while going through the C6 in my truck. One look at the wavy rails on the stock pan was enough to send me to Summit to buy a TCI aluminum pan. Pricey at $117, but very thick - in the long run, I won't have to mess with it leaking or warping. It's also a little deeper and adds 2 qts to the capacity, plus a drain plug, so that's what's going on the tranny.
I like the cork/rubber gaskets and I usually use a VERY VERY thin 3M silicone blend sealant on each side of the gasket - barely enough to see. I also tighten the bolts to the torque spec - not too tight - and I leave it to set up overnight before adding fluid. Never a problem in many installations. Some folks shudder when you say "silicone" but I use it. Problems come from overdoing it and getting it up inside of things.
