Gauge question

I just bought a '79 F150 with the idiot lights instead of the oil pressure gauge. Can this be swapped with a gauge cluster easily, or is the wiring harness totally different ?

Gauge question

No.....The idiot light gauges require a 14 pin connector while the gauge clsuter requires an 18 pin connector.

The only way to get it, is swap the whole wiring harness under the dash.

Gauge question

You could also add an oil pressure gauge in the cab and tee off of the oil pressure sender fitting, or even add a triple set of gauges for oil/water/volts.
I just bought a triple set of Sunpro mechanical gauges from the Actron website garage sale for about $20 - that's a pretty good deal.
