As for the engine, I can find one for around $600 new. I'm considering a 302 Windsor 5.0 Litre.
And help or recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance.

A 302 is a 302 or a 5.0L there is no 302 Windsor. The Windsor is the 351 Small Block. The engine family for both is the Small Block aka Small Block Ford.
Now that that is out of the way.
Pricing is going to depend on the condition of the rest of the truck irrespective of mileage.
And the 302 or 351 will drop in if it originally had a 302 or 351 either will bolt in with minimal fuss.
And had for anyone to say it is good deal with\out photos of the vehicle. But seems a bit high high for a truck with no motor unless it is in really good shape.
It only has 53,000 miles
and the owner is asking $2,000
for it. Is it a worthwhile price or should I move on and find something else?As for the engine, I can find one for around $600 new. I'm considering a 302 5.0L

Do not believe the miles shown on the odometer, as it reads to 99999.9 then returns to ZERO!
53,000 miles on a 35 year old truck is unrealistic, especially since the engine is missing.
Personally, I wouldn't pay anything more than 500 bucks for this truck. And this depends if all the truck needs an engine. What is the condition of the rest of it? How much rust does it have?
You live in PA where they use salt on the roads, so I would assume there's rust, but how much...you'll have to find that out. And find out before you buy it!
Body work, especially if rust is involved, is the most expensive and labor intensive job of a restoration.
