abs brakes
i have a 96 f-150 xl basic work truck, I need to know whether it has 2 wheel abs, 4 wheel abs, or no abs so i can buy new pads and rotors.....the guy at the parts store has to know this.....how do i tell about abs is there a way to inspect the master cylinder etc. please help

The way I can tell quicky is by looking for an electrical connection going to each of the front brake assemblies and one electrical harness going to the rear differential. A 4 wheel ABS will have all three of these harnesses going to where I mentioned and a 2 wheel ABS will not have anything but the brake line going to the front brakes, but will have an electrical harness going to the rear differential attaching somewhere on the top-front side of the diff. It should have and electrical connector at the end of the wires right on the diff.
As for the front again, if you had 4 wheel ABS you would see two lines usually connected together running from the body to the brakes. If you had 2 wheel ABS you would see just one line, which would be the brake fluid line.
