The Dana 50 is still a strong axle, my main complaint with it is they don't make a Detroit Truetrac for it. As far a strength goes you are probably not going to break it unless you are running huge tires like 38s or 40 or are putting it through alot of abuse.

My thoughts exactly! That is one reason why I switched to the D60...for the upgrade options.
