Kill Switch/security

WHAT UP? NEW TO THE FORUM. BRAND NEW 2003 F250 4 DOOR CREW CAB SUPERDUTY 6.0 TURBO DIESEL WITH 5 SPEED AUTO TORQUE SHIFT TRANNY. TRUCK RUNS GREAT SO FAR, GETTING 15.5 MPG IN CITY. NO IDLE ISSUES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. HAVE NOT TAKEN ON LONG HIGHWAY TRAVEL YET. MY QUESTION IS ABOUT SECURITY. APPARENLTY THE FORD FULL SIZE TRUCKS/SUPERDUTY TRUCKS ARE THE MOST STOLED VEHICLES? MANY PEOPLS SUGGEST THAT DEALER SECURITY SYSTEMS CAN BE BYPASSED BY PROFESSIONALS. I HEARD THAT THE BEST THING TO DO IS GET A KILL SWITCH WIRED. ANYONE OUT THERE DONE THIS TO THEIR TRUCK? THANKS.

Kill Switch/security

I haven't actually done this but it would be very simple. There are numerous places you can wire in a switch to break a circuit. I have wired numerous remote starts and keyless entry's and to tell you the truth, anybody that has the electrical diagram to hot wire one of these will easily recognize a nonfactory wire and will bypass it no problem. The only way I think a switch would be effective is if was underneath the hood hid somewhere. Even then though it would be a hassle to pop your hood everytime you want to start or leave your truck somewhere unless your the kind that parks places where trucks are stolen on a regular basis. If you decide to do it good luck and let me know if you need help on deciding what circuit you wanna break.
