Has anyone find a set of silicon radiator hose for there FEs trucks? Looking online and they say that they fit way too many engines, and I know that they don't all use the same hoses. if someone has had luck please post a part # or a vendor that speaks English at least.
Gates used to make them special order. May be worth talking to a counter guy to see if it is still possible. Given the choice to run a rubber hose from a known reputable manufacturer vs a silicone hose from ??? I would (and do) run the rubber hose.
I was considering getting silicone elbows and using SS tubing for the rest. All I find are the turbo elbows intercooler etc. none say anything about being rated for water. I already ordered the silicone 5/8" heater hoses, and want the rest to be of the same type. Prefer not having to piece together, as that's more leak potential. I will ask about the Gates maybe directly. Will post results.
76 some of the 5.0 Mustangs had it as well, but those are the heater hoses correct? I am talking the upper and lower radiator hoses which are formed and 1.75" x 2" and 2"x 2". The ones listed on Ebay although they say will fit my 390 are 1.75" x 1.75'.
Actually both heater hoses and upper and lower rad as well. If they are special order it would be no surprise. Also if memory serves me they were quite flexible-meaning to me they could possibly cross over to other applications. I recall I priced them and chose not to buy any for my heeps as Gates has been my go to belt and hose supplier for many years and zero come backs.
