2000 7.3 hpop torque problems

2000 7.3 hpop torque problems

I just bought a new hpop and I know all the torque specs, but when I go and try and torque down the 18mm it just spins and it doesn't even come close to 95lbs. I have the crank shaft held, but it's the bearing inside of the hpop that keeps spinning. Any suggestions

That shouldn't happen if you have the gear engaged properly with the one below it.

It's been a couple of years since I replaced my HPOP but I want to say that I had to put a small prybar on the gear to keep it from turning when I torqued the nut.

Somethings' wrong. I just installed mine a few weeks back with no issues. Cranked nut to65# before i had to lock the crank down. From there, torqued nut to 95#
