I need you help here
I tried to remove my air pump tonight, and after removing all the hoses and bolts, it still won't come off. Does the altinator have to come off too? I'm doing this on small time frame, I need my truck to run kids back and forth from school. I put the pump back together tonight, but need to get this fixed soon.
Its a 1988 ford 302/EFI. Can I leave the pump on minus pulley. I'm not worried about emissions. Will I have to pinch off a hose or something due to vacuum. My pump is about to lock up , it sounds terrible.
Did you look on the side of the engine behind the pump? I know there was the long bolt from the front, and then I think there was one on the back. There are only 2 bolts that I can remember holding it. It's been a couple months.
Your idea of removing the pulley will work though. I ran the shorter belt a couple weeks before I had the time to remove the whole pump.
