Anyone got a 351M in their truck ??? I got a 66 with I think a 351M out of a 71 Torino maybe a Cleveland.
No 351M's in cars until 1975, in F100/350's until 1977, in Bronco until 1978. 1971 Torino could have a 351C or a 400. Both have 8 valve cover bolts per side.

351M's didn't exist in 1971 and I'm pretty sure they didn't put 400"s in Torino's until 1972. The first thing to look at is the fuel pump mounting bolts. The 335 series engines used a vertical mounting pattern all the rest of the engines were horizontal. Also look at the bellhousing. The Cleveland used the small block bellhousing the top hole spacing is right at 5 inches. The 351M and the 400 used big block bell housings. But to make it really fun there were a few real early 400's that had both bolt patterns on the same block. I hope you actually have a Cleveland, they are fantastic little engines and will make power right up there with a big block if they are put together right.
I have a 351M in my '66 F250 that a got from the '77 F250 donor truck along with the power brakes, power steering, auto trans, etc. Also installed fuel injection. Love how it goes.
0k its 5inchs and vertical fuel pump so must be Cleveland 2 bar. good ??
Alright, 351C, 2 barrel. Those are the most common of the Clevelands and very good engines. New they were 250 HP @ 4600 and 355 Lbs. of torque @ 2600. Here are some tune up specs form the 1971 service specifications. Also those engines used a different thermostat than the one the local parts stores sell as a replacement. If you have trouble with it overheating or getting hot when you stop you need to get a thermostat from TMI. I have one in my engine because it was cooking up to about 210 degrees after I shut it down. I put one of these in and problem solved. Thermostat-High-Flo "Cleveland correct"

We used a FiTech Fuel injection Kit #30003 with the FiTech #40003 Fuel command center. A return line had to be added to the gas tank which was a little pain with the in cab tank but I am installing a rear tank this spring. Shoot me your email and I can send some pictures.
