Recently had my second oil and filter change at the dealer and also got the Ford app working, so I requested a health report on my truck to see if it would work. The health report came back showing oil life remaining of 71% even though I had only put on 250 miles since the service.
I looked in the manual to see if there was some way to set the monitor to a value other than 100% ecause this same dealer had set the oil minder on my 2012 F250 to 75% once. Wouldn't put it past them to pull the same stunt again. However, it doesn't appear that there is any way to reset the oil life minder to anything other than 100%. But, reading a bit more on pages 331-332, it indicates that the instrument cluster will indicate percent of oil life remaining. As far as I can tell, mine doesn't do that. Is this an error in the manual?
The oil life indicator does have some intelligence built into it. I usually do 4-500+ mile days In my truck, but twice after I had the oil changed I wound up with a week's worth of short, around-town days. Normally, the oil minder runs out of life between 9,000 and 10,000 miles, but both times, with the short runs, it was down to 95% within a hundred miles. Also, both times I left on long trips at about the 100 mile mark and the percentage didn’t change until around 500 miles, then continued normally until it reached 2-3% at over 9,000 miles.
There is only a way to reset, in the dash, but the dealer may have a way in the IDS to set oil life remaining to adifferent than 100% setting. I can't confirm this though. The best way to check is to order the health report or have Forscan running when you pick it up and see what it's reset too. Seems a little strange to me it's so close to 75% like you experienced before.
On my '12 F-150, once you pressed "OK" for oil life reset, it came back with a menu selection of 50-75-100 percent. I haven't look on the '18 250 so I can't say it works the same but you might give the oil life reset button an "OK" push to see if that's how it works.

I have tried to get the Ford App/Health Report working on my 2017 F-350 Dually with no success. Do you have any instructions or a link I might use to get this going? Any help you can offer will be GREATLY appreciated.

At that mileage I would reset it myself and see what it says in another 250miles.

It wasn't until I updated to iOS 11.2.6 that it started working. Otherwise, ensure your phone is plugged into the USB port, the app is actually open on the phone, and the truck's engine is running. Apple car play must be disabled as well. You should then be able to request a health report which shows up in your email.
I'm going to run another one and will check to see if there is anything else that I need to add to this.
Just went out and started the truck with phone connected and Ford Pass open on the phone. Everything connected up and I was able to select Ford Pass on the 8 inch screen under Apps. However, to request a health report, you have to select your vehicle on the phone. I was on the screen that shows a picture of my truck and tapped the title above the picture. This opened another window that had a bunch of choices - vehicle health was one - once I selected this I was at another screen (forgot I did all this earlier) where you put in your email address to have the report emailed to you and select the frequency it is sent to you (monthly is the most frequent choice available). I deselected and re-selected everything and it indicated a report will be emailed to me. Don't know how long it'll take to show up, though.
I know I can't see the % remaining, but I didn't even see where to reset it to 100% in the dash - can you share where this setting is? Thanks!
Go to <Settings> (the far right tab), then scroll down to <Advanced> (or Advanced Settings), then <Vehicle>, then <Oil Life Reset>. When you select that, your next selections will be OK to actually reset it. If I recall correctly, it will tell you the oil life is reset, but won't tell to what value, nor does it give you any other information.

I don't remember what the increments were on my 2012 F250, but the operation was the same. The 17/18's are an entirely different beast since the old style is really nothing more than a mileage countdown and the new takes into account mileage, temperatures, load, idling, etc.
I did reset it since I don't believe I used up over 25% of the oil life in just a couple hundred miles. I'm about to go outside and request another health report and see what it says. Oil life should be 100% though, or something's dreadfully wrong.
I have 430 miles on my truck, and it says the oil life is at 77%. How is that possible?
It's possibly based on age of the truck, I bet. One of the parameters the monitor uses is time. If it has been a year since the last oil change it will signal that it is due. I imagine that if the truck is three months old, or thereabout, with low miles, time would be the predominate factor for oil life.
