positrac with 4x4
Is is possible to buy or convert a F-150 4x4 so it includes a positrac rear end for 2wd application. Or does this cause any binding in the transfer case and such? I thought this would be the best of both worlds with ultimate traction.

Yes they make all kinds of kits for this. The best way to find out which brand is for you is simply to buy an off road mag. and start reading. To answer your other question there won't be any problems if everything is installed properly. I have a locker in my Dana 44 rearend and 4x4 with no problems.

You can put any traction aiding differential in the truck without affecting the 4wd system. All it does is allow power to reach both wheels equally (rear) with a (locker) or limit wheelspin (limited slip) If you are mostly on the pavement then it would be beneficial for you to get a selectable locker....OX brand or ARB I don't know if the OX has one for 8.8 or D60 yet but I do know they have them for D44. The ARB is an air locking differential....so that while you are on the street you will have no negative handling characteristics....but when you get off road and engage it....it is equivelant to a spooled rear end with no differentiation between the two rear wheels. Good off road=no differentiation. Good on road=differentiation ie stock differential. Hope this helps you.
