steering column

I have a F:250 1974 4x4 high boy with a 390 motor, the steering column once broke so I replaced it but I broke something where the steering column ends and now I cannot turn on my truck without moving the little white **** to the left. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Does your truck have a 4 speed or an automatic trans? What little white **** are you referring to? I don't know of any such thing.

btw: On sale day, 360's magically become 390's! 1968/76 F100/250 4WD: The only V8 factory installed: 360 2V

It is an automatic transmission.
